• Hitzler depicts existential emotional worlds between death, suffering, and joy in his characteristic, spontaneously and impulsively written paintings.
• One of the rare large-format paintings from the 1970s on the international auction market that shows a particular affinity to Art Brut in terms of motif.
• Powerful, colorful, and large in format, Hitzler has condensed signs and symbols into artistic abbreviations and placed them on the canvas like mysterious hieroglyphs.
• Hitzler studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1967 to 1972.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, Rhineland.
In good condition. Only a few very small stress cracks in the impasto areas.
