Motif A1. Sheet 1 of a series of 5 silkscreen prints based on the 1969 painting of the same name (WVZ no. of the paintings: 224/1-5), which in turn are based on photographs Richter took from an airplane window during a trip to Milan in 1968. Printed by Hans H. Hotze, Essen. Published by the Griffelkunst-Vereinigung, Hamburg. [AW].
• The Swiss Alps, rendered here in an almost abstract manner, create a striking tension between the depiction of nature and artistic interpretation.
• Color silkscreen print based on the painting of the same name.
• The Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris presents a major Gerhard Richter retrospective from October 2025 to March 2026.
• In private ownership for 50 years.

In good condition. Slightly browned and with some light discoloration along the outer edges of the image. Small brown spots in the white areas of the image. A faint crease in the upper left corner and in the upper left area of the image. A very faint and barely visible crease in the upper right corner. Small, faint scuffs in the lower area of the image. Partially with small scuffs, particularly along the edges of the image on the left side.
